Poetry: Calamus

Title: Calamus
Authors: Walt Whitman, W.H. Auden
Arranged by: jAnon
Pairings: Kirk/Spock
Rating: PG  [Coda rated NC-17]
Disclaimer: I have not profited monetarily from this venture, nor do I claim original ownership of the characters, setting, and poetry.  All poetry used in this arrangement was found on the internet and used without the permission of the Whitman or Auden estates.
Warning: The coda, entitled "The Platonic Blow (A Day for a Lay)" is attributed (rather controversially) to Auden and very much NC-17.
Summary: Ambassador Spock is sent on an urgent diplomatic mission a few days before his and Admiral Kirk's twenty year anniversary.  Poetry ensues.

Note: This arrangement of Whitman's and Auden's poetry is meant to be a tribute to both poets and a celebration of their works.  I admire and respect both men greatly and wanted to increase reader exposure to their verse, particularly their homosexual/homoerotic pieces.  Also, Kirk : Whitman :: Spock : Auden made sense to me.
